The Ruling Elements of Nature – Part 2: A Wizard’s Dominant Element
This is part 2 of a 7-part series on the Ruling Elements of Nature.
When wizards came of age, they align themselves with one of the Ruling Elements of Nature – known as their dominant element, and while still being able to access the other elements, their dominant element is the main source of their ability and determines their interaction with nature and all living things.
As we know – Raegan’s dominant element is Fire – and as a result, he is known as a Firelord.
Some wizards were equally dominant in more than one element – known as an Adept; and in rare cases, a wizard could be equally dominant in all elements. Such wizards, of which Lord Frederick is one, are known as a Masterlord.
However, each wizard is affected by and interacts with the Ruling Elements differently, and it is their own unique connection with the Ruling Elements that determines their knowledge and ability.
As we know, the fact Lord Frederick is a Masterlord does not mean he knows more about the Fire Element than Raegan.
For example, Raegan is able to access a dark side of the Fire Element that enables some of his followers to transform into Black Knights – their entire appearance changes and they gain an increase in strength as part of the transformation; and Lord Frederick is unable to access or counteract it through his knowledge and use of the Fire Element.
